DC Highlights

There were many highlights of our three night and two day stopover in the Washington DC area. Besides seeing some of the incredible monuments and museums of the city, including the Crime & Punishment Museum, the Museum of African Art, Georgetown, the Lincoln and Jefferson Monuments, and Arlington National Cemetery, we got to spend time with Erin’s sister, Emily, and her boyfriend, Hunter. They hooked us into the Stanley Cup Playoffs with their loyal cheering for the Washington Capitals in the Caps vs. Penguins series. Tonight we will watch Game 6 in the series and our fourth game as temporary fans. We also made it back to Erin’s parents, in southeast Virginia, in time to celebrate Mother’s Day which we did by taking a bike ride through the Great Dismal Swamp and cooking up a tasty dinner of sweet and sour chicken.
