Playing in the Dirt

Although we are still working on the inside of the house, this past week we have had the perfect weather to work on the outside of the house. Thankfully our friends did some major work on the yard prior to our return so our work has been focused on getting our garden sorted. Today we planted our starts (cheaters, we know) and are now excited to watch them grow. Additionally, it turns out we came home at the peak of iris season. We forgot how beautiful the iris’ in our yard are and have been admiring their intricacies and incredible color. Here are some favorite recent shots:

Glad you are home safe and sound. What a year! Looking forward to eventually talking more in person. I have to admit to being slightly jealous that you are home and reunited with the family. Although I love it here, I do miss everyone and look forward to reunion.

    Hi guys,

It’s amazing to me that we are clear across the country and we are at the same point in our seasons: Our irises are in full bloom, our strawberries are at the same stage of development, our raspberries are just about to bloom, and everyone is working on getting their vegetable gardens going! Your irises are stunning! I love the bright yellow. I was just admiring a yellow iris plant around here today. Someone also has a lovely pink on the next street over. There is so much variety among them!

    Happy gardening!

    Amy
